RoxieHooligans10Nine-year old Roxie—sick of being bullied by a group of kids at her school—wishes she had the derrring-do and courage of her famous relative, Uncle Dangerfoot and his colleague, Lord Thistlebottom.  She has nearly memorized their book, Lord Thistlebottom’s Book of Pitfalls and How To Survive Them, yet so far it hasn’t helped.  But when Helvetia’s Hooligans (those bullies) come after her again, they all end up in a dumptster that is dumped onto a ship and from there onto an island.  Fantasy takes over!  Readers who like fast-paced books and who love to laugh, will cheer for Roxie as she shows those bullies what it really takes to be successful, thanks to Uncle Dangerfoot’s advice.  Wonderful pencil illustrations, too!

Note: Naylor is the author of over 100 children’s books, notably the Newbery-winning Shiloh, and the Alice series.
